The first webinar was Apps in Action for Multiple Disabilities. The second webinar that I watched was called Apps in Action for Reluctant Readers.
Both of these webinars were very good. I enjoyed the first one, Apps in Action for Multiple Disabilities in particularly because it very practical and interesting and a lot of the Apps I could relate to students that I am currently working with. I enjoyed having our instructor go through each app and explain them while having the video feed available to support her explanations. As she was speaking, I was downloading many of the apps and playing with them on my iPhone!
I would have to say that my favorite app discussed in these webinars would be the "Pictello" app.
This app allows the user to create talking photo albums and talking books on your iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. Each page in a Pictello Story can contain a picture, up to five lines of text, and a recorded sound or text-to-speech using high-quality voices. This is definitely an app that I will be bringing back to school to use with my students. I think that it will make more meaningful social stories to teach social skills or assist students in recalling events, use it as a journal for non verbal students, use it to make visual schedules for my students, and so on and so on! The possibilities are endless!
Enjoy!
